In the framework of the LELAM-TVET4INCOME project, two policy makers per project partner country participated in the 2017 CEMETS Summer Institute held at ETH Zurich from June 28 – July 7. CEMETS is the Center on the Economics and Management of Education and Training Systems, an initiative of the KOF Swiss Economic Institute, which is part of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich. CEMETS understands itself as a reform lab for vocational education and training systems worldwide. The goal its Summer Institute (SI) is to learn from a strong VET system like the Swiss one the one hand. On the other hand, the attending teams from different countries work together on their plans to improve their own VET systems.

This year, the LELAM-TVET4INCOME project for the first time brought policy makers from Benin, Chile, Costa Rica and Nepal to the CEMETS SI in order to support the strengthening of the national VET policy making communities of these four partner countries and to concretely contribute to the development and implementation of their current VET reforms and reform plans. This r4d research project will be inviting two policiy makers from each of the four partner countries each year of its three to six years of duration.
